Part-time position: Monday through Friday, three or four hours per day
Holiday day-off schedule follows that of The Metropolis of NJ
Yearly vacation: two weeks
Expectations of this position include being a Christian with high moral standards, able to keep confidentiality, strong organizational skills, self motivated, and confidence in one’s self, loyalty to our Parish Priest and the church community, and a positive attitude. This position provides clerical support to the Parish Priest and Parish Council for the day-to-day operation and function of the parish.
Qualifications
High School Degree or equivalent.
Business school graduate preferred.
Minimum of one year of office experience.
Experience with Archdiocese [ministerial paperwork] preferred.
Customer service or similar experience is highly preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual: Greek / English.
-Excellent command of the English and Greek languages.
-Must be able to read, write and translate from English to Greek and vice versa
Mastery of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Access, Outlook e-mail), QuickBooks, and a willingness to learn new technology.
Compose letters, information sheets, graphics, brochures, posters, flyers, bulletins, newsletters, bulk mailings, etc. with a high quality of excellence for communication.
Maintain an updated database of membership, attendance, visitors, prospects, etc. in a final report form.
Maintain an up-to-date calendar of all church activities and use of building.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and a delightful attitude with visitors, congregational members, and staff as office receptionist.
Exhibit personal discretion and integrity concerning information pertaining to church life and ministry.
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Parish Priest and Parish Council.
Personal Attributes
Knowledge of ecclesiology desirable.
Self-motivated, dependable, flexible, punctual, conscientious, honest and trustworthy

Duties and responsibilities (include but not limited to)
Administration
Abide by the policies and procedures as developed for the various aspects of Parish Administration
Assist in the routine office work of the parish to include but not limited to:
-Sorting and processing incoming and outgoing mail.
-Answering the telephones.
-Sending and receiving faxes.
-Assist in maintaining parish records.
-Assist with special projects.
-Assist in booking events that occur in the facilities.
-Assist with bookkeeping.
Communications and Parishioner Services
Provide high level of service to those calling or visiting the parish.
Provide confidential and quality service to parishioners who are in need of pastoral care through
empathic listening skills and timely referral to the Parish Priest or other pertinent ministry group leaders.
Assist with the preparation of the publication and distribution of parish newsletters, bulletins, Sunday missals and other communiqués and church documents.
Assist with basic data-entry in the membership database.
Maintain the confidentiality of financial and other sensitive information.
