THE “BLUE CITY” PROJECT, OMAN
Scope: Participation in the production of Detailed Design for the construction of E&M utilities and Infrastructure Networks. Among them: Ventilating and Air Conditioning, Fire Fighting Systems, Gas distribution for residential Buildings and Vilas as well as District Cooling Networks, Distribution of Potable Water, Distribution of treated water for Irrigation, Electrical Power Networks, Extra Low Voltage Networks, Stormwater and Wastewater Networks to Plots and Neighbourhoods and other.
Technical Data: The Blue City is a $15 billion waterfront metropolitan residential development project— the first of its kind in the Middle East — and, as planned, will create an entirely new city of more than 250.000 people, endorsed by the Government of Oman. The Blue City project is located on a natural peninsula shoreline, at Al Sawaadi, some 100 km north of Muscat, adjacent to the Gulf of Oman 30 minutes from Muscat Seeb Airport and it will take up roughly 34 square kilometres along the coastal region.
When completed, the city will include 16 hotels, two hospitals and a large university. There will also be an aquarium, a convention center and a sports village.
The master plan for Blue City has been developed by Foster+Partners Architects.

THE “ART MAINALON” HOTEL at VITINA, Peloponnese, GREECE

Scope: Detailed Design, Building Permit Procedures and Supervision of construction for the
a) change of use of a three storey building from residential use into a hotel facility. Operational incorporation to the existing Art Mainalon located at the center of Vitina Village, Peloponnese, Greece.
b) modifications to rooms, common spaces and bathrooms in the existing hotel facility.
c) creation of a Boiler Room in the Basement and an open air swimming pool in the back yard
d) renovation of hotel elevations
Technical Data: The building complex has a footprint of 2.533m2. In these spaces, 55 Hotel Rooms were created, along with Reception Halls, and auxiliary spaces necessary for the operation of a Hotel Unit. The building also accommodates a Restaurant Hall with kitchen at Basement Level. Boiler’s aggregate capacity 570.000 Kcal/h with parallel provision for a chiller, to cover summer demand. An emergency diesel generating set (60KVA) was provided to ensure uninterrupted power supply to vital facilities. Moreover provision was made for a 44ΗΡ fire extinction facility and the necessary swimming pool machinery.
During construction, advisory services are regularly provided.

Client: The National & Kapodistrian University of Athens
Scope: Detailed Design and Building Permit Procedures for the construction of a new two storey Library and Research Center for the INFORMATICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACULTY in the Zografou Campus, East of Athens.
Technical Data: The building consists of Ground Floor accommodating Lobby, stairwell and administration premises, first Floor, accommodating Library, reading premises, stairwell and lavatories and Roof Terrace with a stairwell abutment and open air activities infrastructure. Aggregate built area 371m2
The building is designed to serve 136 persons. Our scope included the detailed design of all electrical services (strong and weak currents) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems, plumbing, structured networking for voice and data transmission, firefighting, security systems and other.
During construction (2008-9), our bureau has been requested to provide advisory services.

St. TRIFONAS CHURCH, VITINA, PELOPONNESE
Client: The Parish of St. Trifonas, Vitina
Scope: Detailed design of a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning facility to the st. Trifonas church, located within the central square of the village of Vitina, in the Arkadia Prefecture.
Client: The Parish of St. Trifonas, Vitina
Technical Data: The 19th century church is located at an altitude of 1.041m and was built by stonework masonry. It accommodates more than 200 persons and disposed of an old, problematic heating facility. The Parish Commission assigned to our bureau the task of designing and specifying necessary equipment for heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning the space, under the extreme climatic conditions, prevailing in Vitina. The Church main hall has a footprint of 250m2 with a further mezzanine of 50m2. Wintertime low temperatures (reaching up to -20οC) dictate the use of a Boiler to achieve efficient Heating. Provision has been made for a simultaneous installation of an Air-to-Water Heat Pump, to act as a chiller during summer time. Boiler capacity: 135.000 Kcal/h, aggregate cooling power 64KW.
During procurement and installation, our bureau had been requested to provide Project Management and Advisory Services.

MILLENNIUMBANK ALIMOS
EXTENSION FOR ACCOMMODATING PRESTIGE PREMISES
Client: Millennium Bank SA
Scope: The retail branch, which is in operation since the year 2000, had to be horizontally extended into an adjacent unused space, in order to accommodate a “prestigious-banking” facility.
Project Cost: € 80.000 approx. Excluding VAT, furniture and equipment.
Technical Data: To the existing branch footprint of 158m2, additional 52m2 were added, thus forming an aggregate built area of 210m2. Our task consisted in carrying out detailed construction design and shop drawings for the creation of 4 supplementary workplaces. All works were duly coordinated, planned and executed while the branch remained in regular operation. Upon completion of the “prestigious-banking” facility, we were requested to modify and refurbish a 15m2 space in the existing facility.
Our scope covered the construction of dry-walls plasterboard and mineral fiber ceilings, carpentry and joinery works electrical installations, demolitions, carpeting, lighting, heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, security and fire detection systems, glass-works, modifications of granite floor tiling and other.
The project was successfully completed in early 2008.

KASSANDRA BAY HOTEL – SKIATHOS
Client: Kassandra Bay SA, Skiathos.
Scope: Detailed Design and Building Permit Procedures for the extension of Kassandra Bay Hotel, at Skiathos Island.
Technical Data: The facility is located on a plot of 2,23 Ha in which a hotel footprint of 3.475m2 is planned to be developed. Aggregate built area shall ultimately reach 4.456m2. The 4-star, 254-bed leisure unit, shall be equipped with central swimming pool, children’s pool, and a number of individual smaller pools, dedicated to the hotel suites. Moreover provision is made for a fully equipped restaurant, open air barbeque, reception areas, common spaces and a multi activities hall.
Our scope consisted in designing all electrical networks (strong and weak currents) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, cable TV network, telecommunications, plumbing, biological treatment, swimming pool mechanical services kitchen facilities, fire-paging installation, fire-fighting installation and other.
Part of the unit is already constructed and remains in operation since 2007.

RENOVATION OF THREE STOREY TRADITIONAL BUILDING
KIPSELI, ATHENS
Client: Mrs Zoe Barboutsi, Athens.
Scope: Detailed Design, Building Permit Procedures and Supervision of Architectural and M&E maintenance works, in a traditional house in Kipseli.
Technical Data: The Building consists of Basement, Ground Floor, 1st and 2nd Floors and Roof Terrace. Aggregate built area 695m2 (plus auxiliary spaces at basement and terrace levels). A set of shops are accommodated at ground floor, while the Floors accommodate a number of apartments. Extensive Architectural maintenance was effected on the two main elevations of the building, reinstating the original Architectural Elements, using modern materials (building chemicals, epoxy mortars and other). All building services were fully replaced, using modern technology and materials (new cables for power distribution, structured networking for voice and data, efficient heating etc.)
All these were successfully implemented without any adverse effect on the traditional architecture of the neo-classical building.

MILLENNIUMBANK BRANCH AT CHOLARGOS- ATHENS
Client: Millennium Bank SA
Scope: Detailed Design and Shop Drawings of a branch at 51 Perikleus street (Cholargos-Athens). Our task included all Civil and Architectural works for the formation of the branch. Moreover our scope covered the totality of Mechanical and Electrical Services. The branch was delivered on schedule and budget, fully completed, in plug-and-play condition, with all installations tested and duly commissioned.
Total cost of project: € 120.000 approx. excluding VAT, furniture and equipment.
Technical Data: The rented property in Cholargos consists of a Ground Floor space with an area of 78m2 and a Basement of 24m2. The branch included 3 work places, 2 on line tellers, machine hall, vault room, IT room and lavatory.
The facility remains in regular use since 2007.

INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENTS TERTIARY TREATMENT AT HERAKLION CRETE
Client: National Bank of Industrial Development (ΕΤΒΑ)
Scope: Preliminary, Detailed Design and Tender Documents for a Water Pollution Control Center (WPCC) using Electrolytic Methods for the tertiary treatment of industrial effluents, originating from the Heraklion Industrial Area in the island of Crete. Moreover our task covered the design of a treated effluent disposal network.
Technical Data: The Project comprised following process units
Electrolytic Unit, where organic load is fully oxidized, pathogens are destroyed and floating solids are flocculated.
Settling Tank for the removal of flocculated Solids and Floating Matter.
Filter Press Unit for supplementary removal of small size solids.
The Design Capacity of the WPCC is 2.000m3/d and the peak flow may rise to 200m3/h. During the primary process (Aerobic Biological Process) the flow is balanced, as required, in variable water level tanks. Unified flow is estimated to 40% approx. of the incoming peak flow.
The project was developed by the Bank of Industrial Development (ΕΤΒΑ) and was partly funded by the European Community.

VITINA WATER SUPPLY – DESIGN OF NEW DN250, 3,5Km – LONG TRANSMISSION LINE
Client: the Municipality of Vitina
Scope: Preliminary and Detailed Design and Tender Documents for the construction of a new DN250, 3,6Km-long water supply transmission line, for the Municipality of Vitina, Arcadia Prefecture, Peloponnese.
Project budget €1,45mil
Technical Data:
The Municipality of Vitina is supplied with drinking water from the Kefalari springs in the North slopes of Mainalo. The scope of the project was to design a 3,6Km-long water transmission line that would allow to convey, by gravity, the necessary peak flow to the outskirts of Vitina. Moreover, the provision was made for the construction, at Pefkakia site, of a large twin-tank (2x750m3) water reservoir and an adjacent water management center, where all central control equipment and pump station would be installed. Apart from the extensive hydraulic design, our scope also covered telemetry and automatic central control, using state of the art technology. To this effect, parallel to the aqueduct, an optical fiber is routed, for the due collection and transmission of all relevant signals, that enable the safe management and operation of the project.

ART INDUSTRY THEATER – PATRAS

Scope: Within the framework of “Patras 2006” Civic Capital of Europe, our tasks covered the Detailed Design and Construction Supervision of all M&E Installations pertinent to the “Art Industry Theatre” in Patras. The facility was built in the old Ladopoulos Paper Mills, in the Patras Industrial Area.
Technical Data: The new steel structure accommodates a complete 880-seat-theater and all necessary auxiliary spaces, duly equipped with modern M&E Installations and Services. Moreover, the building accommodates a multiple use Hall for the creation of Exhibitions, Cultural Events and other.
Building footprint is 1.980m2, stage size 13x16m (the largest in Greece).
Total Construction Cost: €1,5mil
The facility remains in regular use since 2005.

Scope: Detailed E&M Design and Building Permit Procedures for the construction of a new luxury house, accommodating 3 Apartments, private garage at the basement and open air swimming pool. The facility is located by the crossing of Pliadon & Psaron streets, in the Municipality of Kifissia.
Technical Data: The luxury house is progressively constructed on a plot of 816m2. Aggregate built area 490m2. In detail, the structure accommodates following spaces:
a) three individual apartments, one per floor, and a common stairwell
b) basement with three parking lots, Boiler Room, Fuel Tank, Elevator machine Hall and Storage Areas
c) open air swimming pool, complete with all modern M&E installations

Client: National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
Scope: Detailed Design of all M&E Services and Building Permit Procedures for the extension of the HHS Civic Center premises in a complex owned by the Athens University, at Katihori, Municipality of Portaria. Pilion.
Technical Data: The project consists of a number of individual structures, built at different levels, as dictated by the ground relief. All structures communicate at ground floor (GF) with surrounding areas.
Two storey building (aggregate built area 300m2) consisting of a GF Conference Hall, capacity of 120 persons and 1st Floor with separate access, comprising a 5 bedroom guest house and a seating area.
Building consisting of 2 interconnected GF spaces, aggregate built area 425m2, mainly used as Reception Areas, as well as auxiliary activities areas (storage, lavatories, Kitchen, Machine hall).
Five bedroom Guesthouse consisting of individual Ground-floor bedrooms, at different levels, each with direct access to surrounding areas. Aggregate built area 150m2.

Scope: A newly leased facility, in Sitia, Crete, had to be duly transformed into a bank branch, according to the Architectural design provided by NBG’s Technical Division. Our task consisted in preparation of complete Electromechanical Services Design, Supervision and Project Management of all M&E Construction Works, so that the project was completed on time and within the approved budget.
Technical Data: This rented facility, at Sitia Crete, consists of a Ground Floor Space (206m2) and Basement (239m2). Provision was made for the creation of 15 work places, 4 on line teller posts, archive spaces, fireproof space for documents, lavatories and machine hall.

Scope: Detailed M&E Services Design, Issue of necessary Fire Brigade Permit, and Construction Works Supervision. Renovation and Architectural Layout Revision of indoor spaces. Extensive Renewal of HVAC installations at Roof Level. Central Branch is located in the commercial Center of Heraklion, at the Saint Titus Square. The project was executed, while the bank branch remained fully operational.
Technical Data: The NBG Central Branch in Heraklion is accommodated in two adjacent (united) buildings comprising 10 different levels, two individual staircases and two hydraulic elevators. Aggregate built area is 3.300m2. The complex houses its own MV/LV step down substation, (6,5/20KV – 0,4KV), power supply 3x500A and an emergency PG Set, 125KVA capacity, with automatic power supply switching, in case of Power Company failure.
Moreover the complex disposes a central Firefighting pump house, with 60HP main and auxiliary pumps, as well as a jockey pump, for maintaining permanent pressure in the system.
A complex HVAC System has been provided combining two Air/Water, two VRV type heat pumps and central boiler room. Aggregate Installed Cooling Capacity 1.082.000 BTU/h. A modern IT Room, in a permanent (24hour) connection with the Bank’s Central Servers, administrates all voice, data, security, fire protection and CCTV signals of the building. It also acts as a hub for data transmission from and to a number of NBG branches and ATM’s in Eastern Crete.

Scope: Detailed Design and Construction Supervision for the complete renovation and refurbishment of all Electromechanical Installations, Indoors Layout revision and External Elevations Restructuring, of the NBG Ierapetra Branch (355)
Technical Data: The NBG Ierapetra Branch comprises the Ground Floor and the 1st Floor of a Building with aggregate built area 360m2. The Electromechanical Services provided, were designed to cover 17 workplaces, 7 teller posts connected on line, a vault room, backoffice spaces, a fireproof compartment, lavatories and Mechanical Services Hall.
Facilities supervised, are in regular operation since 2004.

NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE (NBG),
AGIOS NIKOLAOS CRETE BRANCH
Client: National Bank of Greece (NBG)
Scope: E&M Detailed Design and Construction Supervision for the complete renovation and refurbishment of all Electromechanical Installations, Indoors Layout revision and External Elevations Restructuring of the NBG Agios Nikolaos Branch, in Crete.
Technical Data: This NBG Branch extends in five distinct levels: Basement, Ground Floor, Mezzanine, 1st Floor and flat Roof. An extensive indoors restructuring was organized and executed, including staircase relocation, new elevator shaft (fully equipped) and creation of office spaces and lavatories at 2nd floor level. In the meantime, according to Architectural Design requirements, a number of Architectural elements were retained.
Power supply was reinforced to No6 (3x250A), all existing electrical switch boards were effectively replaced, HVAC for central hall and mezzanine were reinforced, while a new cooling and heating system was installed, to serve the 1st floor. In the meantime, a new alarm system was provided and installed, while the voice and data network was, effectively, extended in order to cover new workplaces. At the basement a new sewage pump station was installed.
During execution of construction and refurbishment works, a part of the building always remained in operation.
Facilities supervised, are in regular operation since 2004.

VRILISSIA MUNICIPALITY,
ANALIPSEOS SQUARE & SURROUNDING AREAS REFURBISHMENT
Client: Municipality of Vrilissia
Scope: Detailed Design and Tender Documents of all Electrical & Mechanical Services for the refurbishment of Analipseos square & Surrounding Areas at the Municipality of Vrilissia, North of Athens.
Project Cost: € 3,8 mil
The design covered an area of 9,5Ha, defined by Grammou street, 28th October street, Pentelis street, and Ethnikis Andistaseos street, Analipseos square included.
The Area was equipped with modern M&E Services, comprising automatic irrigation and open air lighting of public areas, as dictated by Architectural Design. Energy and Water saving Technologies were incorporated such as optical fiber lighting, use of low consumption lamps, drip irrigation and other.

MEP Detailed Design/Building Permit Documents/Construction Supervision
NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE (NBG), CENTRAL BRANCH
TRION SIMMAHON SQUARE, PATRAS, PELOPONNESE
Client: National Bank of Greece (NBG).
Scope: Detailed M&E Services Design, Issue of the necessary Building Permit, and Supervision of Construction Works. Renovation and Architectural Layout Revision of indoor spaces as well as External Building Elevations. Central Branch is located in the commercial Center of Patras at the Trion Simmahon Square.
Technical Data: The NBG Central Branch in Patras is accommodated in a building consisting of 4 levels (Basement, Ground Floor, 1st & 2nd Floors and Flat Roof) The Main Spaces aggregate built area is 1.115m2 while Auxiliary Spaces comprise further 175m2.
Our Design made instituted provision for main Power Connections 3x350A, an auxiliary 60KVA PG Set, and an automatic power supply switching, in case of Power Company failure. A complex HVAC System has been provided combining VRV type heat pumps and split type units. Aggregate Installed Cooling Capacity 937.000 BTU/h. Modern energy saving devices and techniques (heat recovery, free cooling) were implemented so as to optimize system efficiency with minimal power consumption. A modern IT Room, in permanent (24hour) connection with the Bank’s Central Servers, administrates all voice, data, security, fire protection and CCTV signals. Electrical systems and facilities are effectively protected by an integrated lightning alleviation installation. Moreover, provision is made, at the basement, for permanent ground water drainage and pumped discharge, as building is located close to the sea. All planted areas, provided in the Architectural Design, are automatically irrigated by a drip irrigation system.
Facilities designed and supervised, are in regular operation since 2003.

«STAR» MOVIE THEATRE in ATHENS
Client: Star-Movie Enterprises
Scope: Detailed Design of all Mechanical and Electrical Services for the refurbishment of the «STAR» Movie Theatre. Follow up of all necessary procedures for issuing a new Operation License, planning and coordination with all Public Services involved.
Technical Data: «STAR» Movie Theater is located in the centre of Athens, 10 Saint Constantinou street. It consists of a building comprising Basement, Ground Floor 1st & 2nd Mezzanines, 3rd & 4th Floors. Aggregate built area 1.540m2. Fixed seats accommodate 484 viewers. The complex is equipped with all necessary Electrical and Mechanical Services for lighting, motors supply, HVAC, fire detection, fire protection and other.
The Movie Theatre is in regular operation, with all its M&E appurtenances, since 2002.

“BRAVO” COFFEE INDUSTRIES in ATHENS – FIRE PROTECTION
Client: «Bravo» Coffee Industries in Athens
Scope: Active and Passive Fire Protection Design, for the Bravo Coffee Industries in Athens, for issuing necessary Operation License.
Technical Data: Bravo Coffee Industries operate in a building of 4.400m2 aggregate built area, constructed on a plot area of 4.080m2 at 100 Kifissos Avenue, Aegaleo, Athens. The building consists of two basements, Ground Floor, 1st & 2nd Floors and flat Roof. It accommodates raw materials and end products warehousing, production spaces, administration offices, personnel spaces, lavatories and other.
Fire Protection facilities designed, remain in regular operation since 2001.

Scope: Detailed E&M Design, Tender Documents and Building Permit Procedures for the construction of a new Terminal at the National Airport of Limnos Island in Greece.
Technical Data: The new Terminal is designed to cover aggregate built area 8.450m2. In detail, the structure accommodates all the modern E&M equipment that are necessary for an international airport. Our tasks covered the detailed design of all Electrical Installations (strong and weak currents, lighting control, telecommunications, IT), HVAC, plumbing, Elevators, Conveyor Belts, Special Machinery and other.
Total Construction Cost: €7,5mil
The facility remains in regular use since 2000 (that the construction was completed).

Client: Greek Ministry of Public Health
Scope: Detailed E&M Design, Tender Documents and Building Permit Procedures for the construction of a new Wing of the General Hospital at Korinthos, 80Km from Athens, Greece.
Technical Data: The new Wing of the General Hospital at Korinthos is designed to cover aggregate built area 3.450m2. In detail, the structure accommodates the extension of the surgery and medical clinic of the hospital, with all the necessary E&M equipment for such purpose. Our tasks covered the detailed design of all Electrical Installations (strong and weak currents, Internal telecommunications, paging) medical gas, HVAC, plumbing, Elevators, Special Machinery etc.
The facility remains in regular use since 1995 (that the construction was completed).
