Summary

I am a young journalist currently working in Thessaloniki, Greece but in the process of relocating.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree on Journalism and Mass Media Communications from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and I have been actively practising journalism since 2012, from the age of 18. I started working along with my studies as I believe Journalism should be taught in action and not only through academic courses.
During the past six years, I have worked for the Greek National Television and five local news organisations. Since 2016 I have been working for leading news website of Northern Greece, Voria.gr, covering all kinds of reportage as a reporter on-the-field.
I am a hard-worker and proud to call myself a self-starter. Hence, I am now looking for a chance to live and work abroad, expand my experience and knowledge, become a part of the journalist community in a foreign country and make a step forward in my career.

Education

During my studies in the Department of Journalism and Mass Media Communication of Aristotle of Thessaloniki, I successfully attended many valuable courses such as Journalism Ethics, History, Communication, Social and Political Sciences and preview of European Institutions. Also, I had the chance to expand my skills on extracting information and researching, creating and managing websites and monitoring the public opinion through social media. Therefore, I believe my studies helped me build a significant theoretical background to support my work as a professional Journalist and a reporter on-the-field.

Furthermore, I have earned two Certificates of Proficiency (C2 Level) in English language, – one from British University “City and Guilds” and one from The University of Michigan – that can certify I am fluent in both spoken and written English. I also have good working knowledge of German language (B1 Level) certified from Goethe-Institut and working knowledge of Italian.

Experience

I have been actively practising journalism in Thessaloniki, Greece since 2012, from the age of 18. I started working along with my studies as I believe Journalism should be taught in action and not only through academic courses. During the past six years, I have worked for the Greek National Television and five local news organisations. From July 2016 until today I have been working for leading news website of Northern Greece, Voria.gr, covering all kinds of reportage as a reporter on-the-field.
I have developed professional reporting skills based on the principles of journalism ethics, high communication skills, in addition to my naturally engaging personality. I write news stories on a daily basis, enriched with multimedia content supporting all purposes of a news website. I specialize in social issues, having direct contact with the local authorities. I am enthusiastic about online journalism and I have developed excellent skills on creating and publishing digital news content, and promoting it through social media. Most importantly, my experience of six years working as a journalist in Greece has taught me how to build my own network of contacts and I am looking forward to try and succeed on it in a new environment and become a part of the journalist community in a foreign country.
